Incorporation and Extra-Provincial Registration Fee Estimate
Businesses may require legal assistance either when incorporating a new corporation or when registering an existing corporation to operate in Alberta. Corporations formed outside Alberta often require extra-provincial registration in order to carry on business in the province, which may include appointing a service agent in Alberta and filing the appropriate registration documents. Corporations with a home jurisdiction of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have a separate process under the New West Trade Partnership Agreement for extra-provincial registration in Alberta.
Estimates are provided for incorporations and extra-provincial registrations that fall within our standard process and documentation for typical circumstances. Where instructions, process requirements, documentation, or circumstances depart from that standard, additional legal fees may apply. It is our standard practice to confirm the scope of the incorporation and applicable legal fees where the matter falls within our standard process and documentation based on the information provided, and to advise you where a matter falls outside the scope of services included in the estimate, including where additional fees may apply.
Additional information regarding the incorporation or registration process, standard documentation, and related considerations can be found in the sections below.
